Creamy Rice with Egg and Bacon
Share this

Tamago Kake Gohan (卵かけご飯) is a simple Japanese dish with a raw egg mixed with rice. It’s really quick and easy to make. To add more flavor to this dish, I like to add bacon, soy sauce, sesame oil, and furikake rice seasoning for additional flavor. The bits of bacon adds a salty bite and a crunch to every bite.

Please note that eating raw egg yolks can give you salmonella. To reduce the risk, please use fresh pasteurized eggs.

Furikake Rice Seasoning

To vary the taste of this dish, add some furikake rice seasoning. They are sold as packets or in glass jars. I have tried every flavor of furikake and never had a bad one. You can also use it to make onigiri (Japanese rice balls) or on top of rice.

How to Make Tamago Kake Gohan

All you need to make Tamago Kake Gohan is egg, rice, bacon, soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions.

Put all the ingredients together and mix.

Serve and eat immediately.

Enjoy!
