This quick and easy recipe for a Grapefruit Margarita will leave you feeling refresh and a bit boozy. If you don’t like grapefruit, this recipe will change your mind. All you need is tequila, orange liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier), a bottle of grapefruit juice, a bit of sugar, and fresh lime juice. What a great summer cocktail for entertaining guests and it only takes a couple of minutes to make!
Equipment needed
Cocktail Shaker
Jigger. If you don’t have a jigger, use a measuring cup instead and use the same ratios.
Strainer (optional). This is used to strain out any chunks of ice, lime pulp, or seeds.
Ingredients
To make a grapefruit margarita, you’ll need:
Tequila. I’m using Casamigos Blanco Tequila since I have this on hand, but any tequila would do.
Orange Liqueur.
Freshly squeezed lime. Bottled lime juice has less flavor, so I prefer to use fresh lime and a juicer.
Grapefruit Juice.
Sugar and Water aka Simple Syrup.
The sugar helps removed the tart flavor from the grapefruit but doesn’t make the drink sweet.
